The Do-It-Yourself Museum
The D.I.Y. Museum is a hypothetical project which challenged us as (graphic) designers, to problem-solve a new type of museum. Inspired by my own life as a "do-it-yourself'er", this new museum entailed its own identity, an environmental space (the museum), the walk-through experience, posters, and web hub.

The reason which may make this relevant nowadays is harnessing a community which exists throughout all subcultures of humanity. Whether we are craft-makers, hackers (both the traditional and untraditional kind), technological-enthusiasts, and even bedroom musicians, they are highly welcomed within the space, the designed experience. Although I am not particularly an "experience-designer", that may change in the near future. With traditional museums rather being a passive experience, this museum requires the attendant to be active (and reactive). It references "open source" philosophy, where making something is instead not just for one's self, the real value is giving back to the greater community, being added on and grown through collaboration.
